Hawaii Island police have identified a woman whose body was found Tuesday in waters off Kalapana in Puna.

Hawaii Island police have identified a woman whose body was found Tuesday in waters off Kalapana in Puna.

She was identified through fingerprints Thursday as 25-year-old Brittany-Jane Royal, who had recently moved to Kalapana, according to the Hawaii Police Department. Her last known permanent address before moving to Hawaii was in Tustin, Calif.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Section are continuing the investigation as a murder.
